in her own fundraiser to benefit Karen!

in her own fundraiser to benefit Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship
(MVTH) in honor of Rick's 59th Birthday!!

Members of the Rick Springfield fan community and www.jasonthompson.org
wish to combine their efforts with Scrubs and GH fans far and wide, to help honor and
celebrate Rick Springfield's 59th birthday on August 23, 2008
in a way that is a real gift to him and gives back to others!
Rick is appearing now on ABC's "General Hospital" and is in a dual role
as both the dashing Dr. Noah Drake and rocker extraordinaire Eli Love.
He will also perform his upcoming single “What’s Victoria’s Secret?” on GH during
this storyline arc. This song, and many other great ones, can be found on his new CD,
“VENUS IN OVERDRIVE”
is now available in retail stores and other outlets everywhere!
CAMPAIGN INFORMATION
There is one cause this year we believe from the bottom of
our hearts that Rick is pleased to have us donate to as our
birthday gift to him. Rick has said many times in the past that in lieu of actual
birthday gifts, he would prefer his fans donate to worthy causes. We agree with
his wishes wholeheartedly, and therefore, have undertaken a
grassroots fan-based charity drive to do just that.
We hope it will generate a lot of support!
Note: The campaign ran until August 31, 2008
What better way to give Rick a great birthday present, then to give to
fellow Rick fan, Karen Pearson? Karen and her sister, Kriste Ruhland, are
big fans of Rick’s, and he is a dear friend to them as well. Both Karen and Kriste have
battled cancer the last few years. Karen is still struggling (Kriste is
cancer free as this time), and continues to be in pain and fight the
hard battle. You can read all about the amazing bond these sisters share

donae! We are in the process of compiling the list of prizes,

HOW TO DONATE
If you wish to donate to Karen’s ongoing medical expenses and be
tracked as part of the donation campaign and be part of the
random drawing at the end of the campaign, please make your
check or money order payable to "Karen Pearson",
and mail it to Allycen Farnsworth. Contact Ally at Cockka2s@aol.com
privately via email for her home mailing address.
Rosie Malthaner will collect donations via PayPal,
if you prefer to donate via that method,
Rosie's PayPal address is RMM618@VERIZON.NET.
Be sure to indicate "RICK'S BIRTHDAY 2008" in the subject
line of your PayPal transaction. Do NOT use the words
"donation" or "raffle" in your PayPal transaction!
Everyone that donates to Karen will be tracked in an Excel database, and then
the combined amount will be sent as one donation from the RS/Scrubs/GH
Communities (with names of the donors) to Karen and her family in
August 2008 after the campaign ends. Rick and his management will most likely
be made known who participated in this loving act of heartfelt kindess as well.
100% of ALL monies collected (including PayPal fees) will go to Karen Pearson!
Please note that we propose to collect the monies via PayPal and/or
checks written out directly to Karen, and track them in an
Excel database, and send all at once as one donation from
the RS/Scrubs communities to Karen Pearson, sometime on or
around Rick’s 59th birthday on August 23, 2008.
We will track the names of the donors so that we can let Karen know who
participated, and it's okay if you want to be known as "anonymous", too.
Just be sure to let us know if that is your personal preference on
the final Donor list sent to the Karen along with the checks.
